Shaping the Future of Pawtuxet Park: Insights from the Design Charrette

Pawtuxet Park stands as a cherished green space in the community, but like many parks, it faces challenges and opportunities that call for thoughtful planning. In 2023, the City of Warwick brought together park users, residents, community organizations, and City representatives to help shape a shared vision for the future of Pawtuxet Park. Building on feedback gathered during a public meeting hosted by the Pawtuxet Village Association in June 2021, participants reviewed design concepts, discussed park priorities, and provided input on a range of potential improvements.

The charrette explored key topics including recreation, accessibility, environmental stewardship, shoreline enhancement, gathering spaces, and park amenities. Participants reviewed concept boards and completed questionnaires to identify preferences, concerns, and opportunities for the park.
