Over the past several years, the City of Warwick, in collaboration with community organizations, state agencies, and local stakeholders, has undertaken an extensive planning and public engagement process to shape the future of Pawtuxet Park. Key milestones have included a comprehensive site survey (2022), a community design charrette attended by more than 100 participants (2023), and the development of a conceptual master plan (2024).
Together, these efforts established a shared vision for the park and identified priority improvements, including shoreline stabilization, habitat restoration, green infrastructure to improve water quality, upgraded recreational amenities, enhanced accessibility, and stronger connections throughout the site.
The project is now entering its next phase: transforming the conceptual master plan into bid-ready construction documents. This work will refine the design, coordinate technical requirements, and prepare the project for implementation, bringing the community one step closer to realizing a more resilient, accessible, and vibrant waterfront park
